Assistant Coaches Set

PJ Fleck is the only NIU assistant to retain their position, as he will continue to be the WR's coach next year. There have also been rumblings that Jeff Phelps may return as the D-Line coach, but we'll just have to see.

Gone goest Mike Sabock, who had been part of the NIU coaching staff for 24 years. Sabock was our Do-It-All Assistant who coached our DE's and has been our Recruiting Coordinator. One of our 4 commits is his son, Kevin Sabock out of Sycamore HS.

Here's the list of guys who have followed Coach Kill to Dekalb presumably:

Matthew Limegrover - Offensive Coordinator/O-Line
Patrick Poore - Quarterbacks
Robert Reeves - Running Backs
Brian Anderson - Tight Ends Coach
Carl Mauck - Tight Ends Coach

Tracy Claeys - Defensive Coordinator/Safeties
Tom Matukewicz - Linebackers/Co-Coordinator
Bryce Saia - Defensive Line
Jay Sawvel - Defensive Backs
Travis Stepps - Cornerbacks Coach

Eric Klein - Strength Coach

    First off, I think that completely changing the coaching staff is a bad idea. The players are now going to have to completely adapt to a new style, and our coaching experience definitely took a step back. Also, I would be very interested to see where our recruit from Sycamore now ends up. For some reason I am thinking Purdue....just a hint.
